Good Morning Gamers!
The weekend is almost here and we have a huge list of things you can do this weekend on our weekly round of up gaming events in North County. Here’s a link to that post:
Be sure to check it out if you’re a Star Wars fan as there’s a bunch of events this upcoming week for the new Star Wars Unlimited set. But as for this newsletter we’re going to focus on talking about a new venue for Fighting Games here in North County and their Fighting Game Tournaments this weekend.
Super Cute Collectibles’ First Fighting Game Tournament
Found in the newly opened Cultured Vibe at the Escondido Mall, Super Cute Collectibles is trying to position itself as a place where fighting game enjoyers can hang out and throw some digital fists. In their booth they have a Street Fighter 6 arcade machine (which typically isn’t found outside Japan), so you know they have a passion about this type of game.
They also sell original, anime-inspired clothing and the designs are really cool; we’re partial to their car enthusiast collection.
As a special event this weekend, Super Cute Collectibles is hosting their first fighting game tournaments. They have a small, 8-person tournament for Street Fighter 6 tonight (Friday, March 7, 2025) which is currently full, but it looks like they still have room in their Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike tournament this Sunday.
Even though the Street Fighter 6 event is full, we’re still going to go check it out because we are dying for more spaces like this in North County. Go support your local gaming community.
Pinball Tournament at the Coop - Fanny Pack Day Special
If you’re a fanny pack enthusiast, its time to jump on board the pinball train. The Coop in Escondido is hosting a Pinball tournament this Saturday, March 8 and you get your IFPA (International Flipper Pinball Association) fees waived if you wear your bum bag. How could you possibly pass up this opportunity?
Game Tasting and Wine
The Let’s Play A Game Foundation is classing it up and hosting a board game event at Grafted Cellars in Vista next Thursday, March 13, 2025. This seems like the perfect venue to break out your favorite, overly thinky, Eurogame. This is your opportunity to play Stefan Feld’s Castles of Burgundy with a wine featuring Grapes from Burgundy. Or maybe you can get in the real spirit of the event and play a game of Viticulture.
Disclaimer: Not sure if those games will actually be there, but someone definitely should bring any wine inspired/related game to this event.
Thanks for reading this week. We hope you find an event that interests you and you meet some new people. Let’s keep building North County into the best place for in-person gaming.
