North County's Largest & Longest-Running Boardgame Convention Returns!
Happy New Year everyone!
This weekend, we’re starting off 2025 several great events, most notably EsCon, North County’s longest-running Boardgame Convention.
This image only shows the special events this weekend, but you can view the full list of all gaming events for this weekend and next week here.
Here’s a brief description for each of four featured events for this week.
Escon Gaming Convention: a 3-day long Boardgame convention. Play a ton of boardgames with other enthusiasts the entire weekend. Over 500 different boardgames will be featured from Steve P’s private collection. You can buy a day pass for either $25 or $30 (depending on the day), but a full 3-day pass is only $65.
Saturday Strikes: Hosted by the San Diego Pinball Club at Eppig Brewing in Vista, this monthly tournament has been steadily growing for the past 3 months. It’s a great group of people and a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Union Arena: CODE GEASS Rare Battle: A Union Arena TCG tournament where you can win a rare Union Arena card. Union Arena takes characters from different Japanese manga and pits them against each other. You can have a game Ichigo Kurosagi from Bleach doing battle against Gon Freecss from Hunter X Hunter. If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, you should give it a shot.
Magic Academy - Learn to Play Magic: Hosted by On-Board Gaming, this event will teach you everything you need to know about how to get started with Magic: The Gathering. This is a free event and is well worth it if you’d ever had a passing interest in learning why Magic: The Gathering has been releasing new cards for over 30 years now.
Have a great week everyone!
